Hi,
what is the typical length and width of an investigator 563 packed and on the trailer? I want to see if I can shoe horn it into my parking spot...
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul, I’m moored so I was thinking a trailer based owner would chip in but as not, the above link has the overall dimensions of the 563. I will get a measurement of my trailer’s distance from post to the coupling to add on later today and post that. It’s worth noting that trailers come in various configurations so may be some differences, as in some are dual axle and may have a wider track. If you’re very tight for length it’s not unusual these days to see boat trailers or caravans with folding drawbars.
The regulations forcing boat trailers off the street in NSW will ultimately have more people trying to squeeze trailers of all types into limited off street parking. You can even get caravan wheel replacements which are a rim with no tyres, just rubber edge, on the rim to shoehorn vans and pop tops under garages and carports. What a total pain having to replace your wheels every time you want to park your van .
Blow up trailer sailer anyone?

Re: Investigator size
My winch post to tow ball is 1.4. Add 5.63 to give a overall length of 7 m plus whatever hardware you have on the stern by way of outboard brackets. My trailer is 2.0 m wide but as the boat is 2.1. That’s your width. Overall height on trailer will need a trailer user to chime in.
This link has Ray talking about a suitable shed size, about half way down the page. Remember your mast will overhang a bit but it’s not an issue to remove it and store it down the side of the house I suppose.

Re: Investigator size
Hi Paul, my I563's trailering height is around 2.2m (others 2.4m?)
A caveat, my boat Teria probably sits lower than many other I563's. Because rebuilt my trailer frame with a low-slung centerline for the keel . My 2.2m is the height of the lowered mast resting on my bow rails (pulpit) to the ground ( the aft mast crutch a similar height).
Investigators have varied crossbeam/roller designs from deep V's (lower) to straight across (highest)

Re: Investigator size
Length of my boat on trailer is 7.8m (has extended drawbar and outboard bracket) (6.3m winch-post to OB bracket + 1.5m to towhitch at front)
Cheers
