Just bringing your notice to this article if your a LM resident or planing a visit this summer.
I've lived on or around the lake for most of my 58 years and never once seen a Noah. But I know they are there. I've also surf skied and kayaked and snorkelled in the shallows of Swansea Chanel in the early 80s when I lived there. No issues.
It's a simple fact that since the govt bought out the commercial fishos about ten years ago that the lakes fish population has grown and that has attracted the predators. I love LM but I'm now very cautious about where I swim. Yonks ago we'd swim off the back of the mooring on a hot summer night but no longer. Also we don't just jump overboard any old place in the middle of the lake to cool off.
Just be wary if your are here. Particularly where kids are involved. There are some nice sand flats and an island that provide relative safety just north of the airport. Bull sharks are also an issue but the great white comes with its own orchestra.
