Seeing as we’re all possibly hibernating for the winter and things are fairly quiet I thought I’d throw up an interesting article on washing from Practical boat owner.
My main halyard which is a non synthetic/ ss combo has been hanging on the mast on the mooring for 14 years and is still good. Gets a squirt with the hose during haul out. Been going to replace in with all spectra for years but never got around to it. Might wash it instead.

Some good ideas there. My jib sheets and halyards are getting fairly toasted and not as flexible. have already tried the bucket soak with detergent and they're still much the same. Might have to try the washing machine or pressure blaster!
Still land-lubbered awhile, repairing the trailer, however it's getting there.
Hope some boats down south are all refreshed from winters layups and hitting the waters again. (It's the opposite up here in far North, lay ups over the "summer" = build up and wet cyclone season, then sailings from April-October - the dry cool season.)
