Hi everyone,

Ive been following the site for a while now and have now purchased Toreis which has spent the last few years in a paddock in Bargo. very dirty an with a few inches of water inside and covered in leaves from the tree she was parked under.

Looking forward to cleaning her up, doing the few little jobs to get her back in the water with a view locating her in Lake Macquarie.

As a relatively newby to sailing,( cats when i was much younger) I'll be looking for plenty of advice and guidance. They reckon the only dumb question is one not asked lol so I will Have plenty

So thanks in advance and i hope to get to know you all and meet as many as I can over the coming years.

Will add pics when i work out how files to big? suppose this is my first question lol

Welcome to the forum. Glad you saved another 563, its amazing how a bit of a clean can transform an old boat.. No question is unimportant , everyone has had one at one time. Im on the east side of Lake mac , so hope to see you on the water. Ian will be along soon and tell you the file sizes I think its 60k for a pic. Just hit the CHOOSE FILE at the bottom of your post then ADD THE FILE and your ready to rock and roll.

Ah, Toreisi... Seen her 10years ago. How time flies. I will attach some pics. She was the first I563 I ever looked at. Her rudder is from my Yara I50. (Replaced one that was stolen.)

If you can re-size your pics, around 50k is ideal.

Now I remember Toreisi ... this is the same boat with the 'I' fallen off the name plate. The original owners were big posters on the original forum , even had some underwater camera vid if I remember correctly. The shot going under the bridge was a beauty.

Thanks for the welcome and glad somebody had some photos of her. I'm still trying to resize mine, may have to wait till my son comes over lol
So Toreisi is her real name. I saw a reference to her in a members posting of known boats but didn't know if it was the same boat. There is a 1st month rego sticker next to the name and i thought someone may have misread it

I spent Saturday scrubbing the sales. They have some mold and rust spots from being left in the wet boat for a time but physically are in very good condition.

The hanks aren't worn but are corroded and about half were seized. Managed to free most up but would like to get them shiny. Is there a way to do this without taking them of the sail?

Is there a way to view the original site, would be great to get some of the history of Toreisi?

Tah, the old MSN site is defunct unfortunately . It was transferred in an almost unsearchable form to "Multiply" but that too is now kuputnik.


Mark C was the owner at the time this post below was made, but only made two posts. He got married and rented a Jeanneau 36 for his honeymoon. Either could have contributed to his selling the 563

There may be others who saved pages from the old site who could help you. I had a screen shot of the splash page but that was about it.

I googled the word Toreisi out of curiosity and only one site comes up. Two references to the site in the search. Anyone speak this language?

Hi everyone,

Toreisi has a flushing toilet with no holding tank which i believe is not legal these days but on closer inspection both through hulls have no sea cocks and only one clamp on the hose!!

I'm thinking of ripping it out and epoxying up the holes. Is this the best solution or is there an argument against it?

Good idea to take out the sea toilet. Only allowed to use if you are sailing offshore. Porta Pottis are not expensive. Just make sure you do a good job of glassing up the holes.

Regulations

The POEO Act is complemented by the Marine Pollution Regulation 2006. This regulation is designed to improve the management of sewage pollution from vessels and simplify the capacity requirements for sewage holding tanks.

The discharge of untreated sewage from vessels into navigable waters is prohibited, except into a waste collection facility such as a pump-out or on-shore toilet"

"Recreational vessels

There are no specific requirements for recreational vessels. However, all vessel operators must ensure that they do not pollute.

Roads and Maritime Services recommends the installation of holding tanks, although owners of smaller vessels can use a portable toilet instead.

Planning your trip to take advantage of shore amenities is another way of preventing sewage from entering the waterways."

Put new led trailer lights on today. old ones weren't working and when I opened them up they were badly corroded. Work great now
