Yesterday was just one of those perfect days here in the bay for sailing. 11am launch into 10kt winds which ranged up to about 19kts during the day but were perfect for the Investigator. I had a guest on board, a very experience sailor and friend who has sailed here forever. I basically handed over the helm to him and let him go for it - he pushed Aminee hard and fast the whole day with full sails and we averaged about 5kts most of the time eventually hitting 6kts on our home reach.
It was amazing not to be at the helm but observe this boat perform perfectly for over 5 hrs. We had lumpy seas but we were doing better that some large stink boats out there as they ploughed their way forward at too high a speeds. We had the plus of a pod of humpbacks enter the bay near us and keep us entertained.
All in all this is why I bought this boat and it was a true joy to be out there feeling safe and having so much fun. Again hats off to I563 a terrific yacht.
Why I have an Investigator
Re: Why I have an Investigator
We are very lucky living near these fantastic sailing spots and having such a great boat to sail in.
Half your luck Mark I'm still working my way down this list of domestic chores I've been given.
Retirement what retirement?!

Marvelous recount, Mark - puts all the trials and tribulations of daily life into perspective. Never had humpbacks follow us around but there have been seals and dolphins -- Fabulous
The picture shows Pip tied up at our other club - The Paynesville Motor Cruisers Club. Its early morning and conditions are calm to say the least. Membership of the PMCC is very reasonable and mid-week mooring no problem. There is discount at the restaurant and bar, and most importantly - free hot showers. We launch at the public ramp and keep our car and trailer here.
I suppose its not why we have an Investigator except from the point of view of how good the modest life can be, and an Investigator 563 is a modest little yacht by all accounts.

Peter your club setup looks perfect we have nothing like that here. I really have to get down your way some time and investigate (no pun) the area more, I know very little of it.
