Looking for interior and deck fitting photos please

Post by cruiserpete »

Hi all,

I'm about to lay up my 563 (after the Tassie term 1 holidays) so in about 4 weeks I'll be "parking' the 563 for the winter as Tassi Winters can get pretty rough and this will be a good time and excuse to slip the tarp over the 563 and get stuck into some interior fit outs.

I've scoured the forum's gallery but I'm after more... lol
(any photos of interiors appreciated as I'm gathering ideas)
I'm particularly interested in what people have done with sinks (mine has a sink that converts into a step on entry to the cabin). In my readings some investigators came with a slide out stove and slide out sink where the berths go I believe

I'll leave the V berth as it is and tackle that later in the year.

I'm mainly interested in the 'main living' space of the cabin.... so again, any photos of main living spaces appreciated.

Lastly, some deck fitting photos either as a reference or possible ideas on 'better placement " appreciated.

Cheers, Pete

My list of things to do:
Completely rewire the entire electrical system in tinned wire, investigate a starter system that my 563 may have for the original Volvo 90 outboard. I've located a Volvo electrical plug in the transom that was once used for an electrical start on Volvo 90's. I'm unsure on my actual setup however, given that I still have the original Volvo 90 outboard which has a connection on the outboard for the Volvo starter loom and I have located a Volvo 90 electrical start loom in the transom...I may well have a Volvo electrical start for the outboard (MAY well have lol) I want to move all electrical items to the switchboard side because they are currently all over the place and tidy up the wiring because it has bits of different gauge wire crimped all over the place.

Make the cabin more inviting and give it an 'airy' feel..... sew some new covers for the berths cushions and for the V berth cushions.
Design, make and add a semi-permanent (or permanent) holder for my gasmate/canister cooker and add
Design, make and add a semi-permanent (or permanent) holder for the sink
Design, make and add a storage area for cups, plates, cutlery etc
Replace the oval cabin lights to 'reading type downlights' and refit the oval lights near the cabin entrance area so I've got whole cabin light when cooking or just sitting or directed cabin light when lying down reading
Add a solar panel mount (for my future 130 Watt monocrystalline panel install mid the year)
Add a bimini for summer sailing and cockpit shelter

That's about it for now..unless someone offers an "idea"
Cheers, Pete

Pete . Im currently finishing off my outhaul . Have fitted new LED nav lights and interior lights, new mast step and am doing a mast tart up and interior spruce up. This weekend I will take some pics and post them. My 563 has a slightly modified interior with a cabin door and infill on the Oriental arch , which also provides the compression posts for the mast. This was on the boat when I bought it and was welcomed by my all girl crew which at the time consisted of two teenage daughters. Interiors are interesting .

My original liking for the 563 was the plain interior as my previous 6.1m power cruiser had fitted sink and stove and under sink cupboards that took up too much space and now I like more portable appliances. My stoves are floaters but I like Ian B's set up inside the doorway. May get to that one day.

Here are some ideas. Boat was a little dirty when I took pics.
Description and pics not in any particular order
The cockpit lockers have been reduced by fitting 2 iceboxes on port side, and 1 icebox and sink with pressure water to stb.
There's still plenty of storage in the lockers.
Have made a set of steps at companionway that are removable and the switchboard is incorporated - battery is behind under cockpit

Gas Struts on the locker lids are the best thing I ever did - s/s ones are available but couldn't track them down so went to my joinery supplier and got kitchen cabinet set for $75
Forward cabin has soft polypropylene lining to hull and cabin and teak ply to cabin ceiling
Bulkhead on forward side has teak ply lining and LED bunk lights - $9.95 each
4 x LED's in main part of cabin
