I actually set it up and hang on stern rail, then tie it on then run rod along outside to rams horn up front, easier to launch single handed, plus I cant find a anchor that fits in locker of enough size without modifications. Saves weight of 6 metres of chain and the back strain lifting chain and anchor plus it releases easier than the anchors i have tried.

That box anchor looks interesting - How did you get yours?

I got mine of eBay. About 2 years ago. Mine was the second last of a small batch, that the Ebayer got in from the state's. I don't think they sold to well for him as he marked it down. Mine was $130. I looked on eBay and there doesn't seem to be anymore! Honestly I wish I had one when I fished a lot as it is the best anchor I've used! Just an update on box anchor.

Went to Lakes Entrance new years eve, to watch fire works parked up on bank, transom in, box anchor holding bow out. guy in 32foot fast attack stink boat layed beside me, bow in. when he left he forgot to lift his anchor from the beach and proceeded to launch possible 450hp onto me and AM, there was enough thrust to launch 'milly vanilly' back into stardom, as you would guess the box anchor didn’t hold and the bottom was so ripped up that I couldn’t get it to bite again in the reedy muddy bottom, so I moved to new location! Bloody tool!!! So far so good with anchor though.

hey peter, we have a colemen 4 man inflatible which just pumps up on 12v. also our rudder lefts of easy, tie a rope to bout when you row to shore so if a wind is blowing you can pull inflatible back to boat. this inflatible folds so small it's great.
