Palomida (Robert), Tosca (Gunter) and Margarita (Bob) had a very pleasant day today on Moreton Bay at the invitation of the Careels.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for posting those pics. Hopefully I will be able to get some up in the next few days.
It was nice to meet the crew too.
Great day. Pity there was not more breeze.

Cheers, Robert

Yes ,we had a great day last Sunday, a beautyful winters day but little wind. I am not complaining, could have been 25 knots ! Good to see a couple of Investigators on the water. Great guys in the Careel group, i really enjoyed the company.
Bob, I owned my boat for over 10 years but this is the first photo I have of it under sail.

Gunter,

Re the photo, it's my pleasure. Robert's photo is the first I have of our boat, but it's not taken 10 years. oI'll send you a copy of the original of your boat, which will be of better quality.

I think there'll be a few more pics coming from the CCYA people. Lots of photos were taken and they are going to send us some copies.

PS I had the rear safety rail modified (removed) today so that I can now get my leg over (as they say) when boarding from the stern. Works well. I'll take a photo and post it when I get a chance.

Brisbane Investigator 563 sailors- The kind Careelers have invited you again. Might be nice to join their Association, it is not particularly expensive.

Yet another opportunity to mix with the Careels at Redcliffe for our Brisbane based Investigator563 crews.

Incidentally, side by side, "racing" how do the boats compare?

On another side track, I was at Redcliffe last week, discovered that this was where the Queensland "First Fleet" landed. Mind you, they didn't stay for long!

Hi Ian,

Yes, we are invited again, and I am now on their email list and so am advised well ahead.
I would love to make it. I have not yet put the trailer back together. It has taken some time for the axle people to manufacture the new axle, gal hubs and springs and the other bits and pieces I needed.
I collected then yeterday and they have done a brilliant job.
The brakes fit back on perfectly. They even tapped the same thread for the bolts for the brake attachment.
I hope to get to this on Saturday. Then I can flip the trailer back over and begin on the top side. Still much to do.

Cheers, Robert
