Re: Trip report: Lady Musgrave Island

Hi Robert. Saw your post on TSP. You are representing the Investigator fraternity with style! Bummer about getting ill. Both Margaret and I have had something similar over the last couple of weeks. Not as bad as you by the sound of it, but I'm still not over it. Didn't stay long. Was that because of...

Re: Pop-top problem

Graham

Here are some pics of ours. I haven't looked at any other boats to see if this is standard or not.

The lower ends of the rods are secured with what they call stay-put fasteners. Except that they don't very well.

Re: Dimensions for Mast Mate "Magic TC"

OK here you go.(mm) A 730 B 480 C 570 D 230 E 430 F 1400 G 1680 H 930 cockpit floor to pushpit rail (approx) 200 cabin roof to mast (approx). My boat is stored without the mast so I could not get accurate H measurements. Anyway each boat will be different depending on how the mast is supported. Figu...

Re: Time for a new trailer

Thanks Ian. I have to say that the tilt works well. On retrieve, the boat self centres quite well as soon as you get the nose between the guide rails (mine has wooden carpeted guides plus wobble rollers for the hull) with or without tilting/dunking. I've noted your posts re trailer bearings (mine ar...

Re: Time for a new trailer

After following the saga of Robert's trailer, I had another look at our launching/retrieval technique. We have a Manta trailer (original Investigator trailer I assume) with tilt. But we've been dunking the trailer over the hubs in the belief that this was "the way to do it". Have had no pr...

Tender Behind

Well after a number of trips away we've bitten the bullet and bought a tender. Fortunate to pick up a Zodiac and Mercury 2.5HP from an ex-colleague at a good price. Spent the weekend at Tangalooma and gave it a go for the first time. Great. We've been struggling with a $100 "toy" boat for ...

Re: Centre board advice

Let me know of you can't solve the problem and I'll put you in touch with thr previous owner of my boat. He replaced the CB with a stainless steel one so he'll know how it's rigged.
