Re: Electric yachts - the future?

Rainy day, just re-read that one Andrew. It’s all about technology lag really. We have the motors just not the fuel tank . While attempting to catch up with battery improvements we are still not there cost effectively. Finally, finally the transport industry is owning up to the fact that trains with...

Re: Lightning

Thought this was worth a bump up. Especially considering the crepe weather we are having. Not that I’m out sailing though . Anyway interesting link on Practical Boat Owner as usual. https://forums.ybw.com/threads/lightning-protection.609129/ This is fairly typical of lightening discussions as...

Re: Storm Jib

My faux Tassie oak (I think) from local mill lasted a while Ian and on the mooring. This upcoming replacement Ive got some spare caravan drain hose I’m going to split lengthwise and sleeve it over the timber rail . Sort of its own little garage. I would think pool noodles with the centre hole would ...

Re: USEFUL STUFFS

Bumping this again as Aldi had ski gear on Saturday. The $49 jacket in bright red would be a good sailing jacket by the look of it. Certainly cheaper than anything with “sailing “ sold in marine outlets. Once again you need to add reflective tape if it’s not on your PFD. I bought a few caps and a ba...
