When using any of the acid based cleaners you must pile on the polish to protect the gelcoat. With our boats' age the wax surface has long gone from the gelcoat which makes the surface porous - which is why it gets dirty easier - so the pin holes need to be "filled". Penetrol is very good ...

Ozzie. The last time I had hollow section steel hot dipped we had to drill sizeable holes at either end so the zinc was able to get inside and also to stop the seam of the tube splitting because of gas build up inside

Ozzie. Tape I use is a vinyl type tape - looks a bit like the brown packaging tape but thicker, and comes in red or blue. Did the nonskid on my boat years ago. Most important part is making sure that the non skid is perfectly clean. You won't have any wax residue because of the boats age so a good scrub with soap and water and a really good rinse with CLEAN water again whilst scrubbing with a clean scrubbing brush. Mas...

If you want the really good oil on boat solar look at/speak to www.solar4rvs.com.au. Also www.solarquotes.com.au has some great tech info. It mainly applies to domestic solar but the technology is the same
