beachmere to scarborough qld

Hi All Had a sail from beachmere to Scarborough
we left beachmere at 8.30 am it was getting down to low tide
which is not to good as the last two markers going out
we got down to 3 feet beachmere needs the sand removed again
but we got out.
it was a good day over to Scarborough .5 of a meter 10 to 15 knots
on the way over we tried to get some shots of a shark hunting a bird he was about 9 feet

I use my old jib as at 15 knots the new one is like having a turbo on board

after that we went out of the marina i had a full main up and the normal jib
as we got out the wave went from .5 to 1.5 m wind 21 knots i had to go up set a storm jib
let the young one take the tiler. we were punching in to the waves right over
i put up the storm jib and one reef in the main
it was only later i noted that the boom was not set right
and the reef was not right but at the time it did not matter.because it hard to set when you being lifted of the deck in big waves
for a investigator.
we need to get out of there.the tide was coming in from the west pushing us back to a sand bar
the wind north east so it was choppy.
we needed to go out before you can turn the marker and head north back to beachmere
the next video is 21 knots of wind after the turn on the reef main the boat was still doing 4.5 knots 6 in waves
i did the tiler as the young one does not have the now how yet to sail in big waves
in the first part of the video , i took my eye off the sea only had time to yell a warning as we started the go pro. we got hit by two waves

still it was a good run back only on a reef main not set right until we got in to the river we both still had a ball.
