Trailer parking on streets.

No doubt everyone is aware of the new trailer parking restrictions. Well I thought I was till I saw this on the Cruising H site.

It has ramped up since my last reading.

I used to park my empty trailer on the street in front of my house in a dead end un-cul-de-sac street till it was vandalised. Now, I shoe horn it into the yard. It would be nice to have the choice though. I agree this is highly discriminatory against boaties when caravans or many vehicles such as vans are equally likely to cause site distance safety problems at intersections etc.

I am hoping that the real target is in areas close to boat ramps, where people park on the street in order to minimise towing distance. Also some suburbs with busy, narrow streets.

However it is up to Councils, and you could get some vindictive bureaucratic types causing problems. If it happens to me, I will be parking my trailer for 28 days in front of my local councillor's home.

Anyone been stung or know of anyone being stung by the new boat trailer restrictions yet?

I was talking to a real estate agent recently and he mentioned there were more questions being asked lately during house enquirers regarding off street parking for trailers etc. The new way to add value to you house ?? Forget a pool, put in an extra hardstand space.
