Great great grandmother was a Ross from the Isle of Skye. Went there a few years back, probably the first in five generations to do so. Magic place.
She left and married my gggrandad from Edinburgh and probably came here during the Clearances. In my dreams I’m sailing an Investigator into Portree Harbour

Oh Ozzie, you crack me up mate. My problem is I have not displayed any of my ancestry when it has come to the restoration of my Investigator. In fact a certain saying comes to mind. "Q. Is this near enough? A. If its perfect, then it will be near enough" ( my woodwork teacher from High School) There must be another influence at work when it comes boats. This may well be the Viking influence. When I looked up my surname in the ancestry data base. It said " a most unusual Scottish name, previously from Normandy. " ( hence my love of boats ?). I wonder if the Vikings used to like spending money on their boats?

Well, they skimped on a roof
But.... they did have a sound system. One drummer and he was always on the beat. That’s if the movies were correct. I was shattered to find they didn’t actually wear hats with horns.
