well i sail my investigator today in 15-18 knot winds with sea at 1m short and choppy waves out in Moreton Bay off Shorncliffe
the brisbane to Gladstone race was on !!50 sail boat in the water at one time lovely
i did not bother to anchor as even some of the big cats dragged their anchors.and ended up in the race lane only to to be told move it .
i just sail up and down the spectators area.
i found i had to put in a reef in the main at 7am as the wind was high going out to the spectator area
the sea was rolling along but by 10 am waves were shot and sharp.
with 15 knot wind i just ran with storm jib and full main on a reach
if i could have taken some photos of the investigator
in them waves from some other boat i know they would have been magnificent!!
she was well over in the wind and the bow leapt over the top of the waves at 4.3 knot.
in one big wave out their that i did not see as i was talking at the time
the investigator drop off the top of the wave
half the front part of the boat was in the air!! . she landed and just sped off to taken the next wave not some thing to do ever day
but magnificent!!

i have found out today that taking too much sails down in the investigator in 15 knot winds
make your ride awful beating to windward keeping the speed on and she sails like a true yacht
i am still buzzing high from the experience Kevin shepherd we love you
she may be slow compered to a racing boat but
MAN THEY rock !!
