Great vid atles. I need to start using my gopro more . Love the comment re what time it is. We always lose track of time on the boat and thats why we are always rowing in from the mooring after dark.

Keep them coming everybody

Looks like you had a lot of fun. The main would give you more power if you fitted the boom vang. I could see the slot fitting on the boom for the vang.

Atles, I note that your signature has your sail number as 58 but the main in your video shows 133. Is there a story to that?

hi Ian,the boat use to part of the old moreton bay club in the 1980 the guy who sold it told me told me the sail was given to him by the 133 boat
 i think it must be an original sail to have the logo still on it.

also yes i have to get round to putting a boom vang. on

Have you fitted hinges to the "pop top ". I hinged mine and found it better than trying to raise it using the struts.

Hey Topaz Bill,

Can you provide any detail including photos of your poptop mods?

The struts are a pain, I would be keen to make some changes.

Thanks

I have wondered about hinging the poptop from the front BUT if you look at this thread...

I covert Emrys poptop, it’s a work of art with standing headroom. I think he’s replaced the struts with longer ones . Not sure of the mechanics, he may give us a tutorial but I’d be prepared to muck about with the struts if I could get standing headroom

I'm happy to send photos Geoff, "Secret Chord" is parked up for a week or two till I can resume my Whitsundays adventures. Although technologically challenged, I'll do my best to attach photos.
Emrys' pop top does look a work of art, I just wanted something instant. I'm a novice sailor, and feel very humble making any suggestions on this site ( I'm sitting in my lounge chair at the moment designing a wobble stopper from a dinghy anchor and a dog dish ).

Wow, I just worked out how to do paragraphs on an iPad, and feel quite computer literate.
