Just in case anyone is interested, there are some good videos on YT that will be good for your crew or yourself if your like me and always learning

the first is by Captain John , not just this one but his whole series on You Tube is very good

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-L7H82vcwc

Second lot is by ppconsultant and these are longer clips but very very well explained with good graphics and an italian accent that my wife loves

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL ... ywlx5JjNK0

Lastly for anyone who has not seen it I love this clip and watch it whenever I need to remind myself to "get out and sail you idiot time is not on your side"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKGupz_9mGc

Ive got a GOPRO and bought a boxkite ...now just have to construct the stabilising mount platform to be able to try this ....notice i said try

I love the poled-out twin headsails in the last clip magic, magic, magic ...

Enjoy

Enjoyed the heavy weather sailor stuff atles. I have given the other one to my wife to view. She is a very good 'intuitive' sailor I just wish she would learn the names of things so I don't talk double Dutch to her  funny she loves the boat healed as much as possible .....down to the gunnels in the water, thinks its a hoot even though I have explained this is an inefficient way to sail. and she scares me sometimes.

Interesting statement in the second video re older boats and how the technique has changed. Modern boats, as the narrator said, pivot around their fin keel so avoiding a broach is harder.
With the 563s long keel it should surf very well according to that theory  . Has anyone surfed one down steep waves. Curious as in LM most foul weather is a short vicious chop and I'm unlikely to be heading out across Swansea bar anytime soon to test Spritzig II out.

Keep posting your fav videos people , better than reruns of "Everyone loves Raymond"

Anybody's comments on ppconsultants vids? I think they are great , too bad we don't have tv shows like that.

good to see you liked the videos Ozzie :) i like seeing them too
as for going over a bar i must say i have not done it yet in a investigator
but i have been hit from the back port side by a 5 foot wave off a big ship and i did not like it one bit
i have done small surfs with waves coming from behind and i must say they are fun !!

Thanks for the video links, inspiration and safety. The "stop the boat" one is a potential lifesaver
