Is this website stuck on July 12 or has everyone hibernated for winter?
Feels like sailing on the Marie Celeste here
Anyone doing any interesting upgrades or even routine maintenance or anything?

Hey Emrys....glug glug ...still here.... taking water fast...glug... oops forgot to but the bungs inn...glug

Yes it does get a bit quiet this time of year . I will break the ice... literally , I got back mid June from a trip to Alaska via Canada . If anybody wants a unique holiday with an amazin' nautical experience I cant recommend highly enough a cruise up the Inside Passage from Vancouver to Whittier in Alaska . We also did the Rocky Mountaineer train before hand out to Calgary and later the Denali express to central Alaska.

I'll post more in anyone is interested . I know many of you may be at the "bucket list" stage of life and this ones worth the money well and truly.

Coral Princess has my requirements for blue water cruising ...two theatres and a bar ..in fact about 10 bars. 8-) http://www.princess.com/learn/ships/co/

I have been slack and have not been sailing since I got home ...tomorrow for sure

Thank goodness human life at last - even if it is only Ozzie.
Only kidding mate - that trip sounds like a real must. I have heard others mention those Alaskan cruises as being a great experience.
I had a train set as a kid with those Rocky Mountain railway carriages with glass viewing decks and always dreamt of sitting in one while going through the mountains in B.C.
Many thanks Ozzie and definitely post more of your photos.

Fair enough Atles - you've been working hard on your trailer so excused from posting. :D
Maybe a photo of your trailer after finishing.
Cheers

Hi folks:

I'm still here too, though I must say the bloody cold winter here in Victoria has taken the edge off any maritime thoughts.

It's all I can do to work in the man cave (shed) on various boat related projects.

Anyway, this weekend I'm planning on replacing the wooden gunwales on Qumbu, so I'll shoot some progress pics and put them up on the technical area once I've finished.

Just got to buy a few drill bits and some new SS bolts, nuts and washers. Already got the custom made timber, oiled up and ready to go.

Cheers,

Geoff

I wil be interested in your project as I am going to do same soon with the help of a woodworking fellow sailor.

For me in Batemans Bay, Been sailing all though winter on average every two week, just got back from a full day on the water in lovely 10kt winds kicking us along, although breeze was 'fresh'

Cheers

Mark

Still Alive in NQ,

maintenance on Teria's trailer round 2 completed. Added new aft bilge crutches with teflon sliders, and lowered the bow by removing a cross beam near the front, hope to test soon.

Recent strong winds up here and ongoing renno/gardening with the house but hope to get out there next weekend?! Its 15/25C here with 15-20 knot E - SE and clear skies

They look like the mother of all boat crutches and retriever guides.
Looking forward to your report Andrew.
