"The skids"

Hi all,
I'll be heading up the pumicestone passage (The inside of Bribie Island - QLD) during the September school holidays on Sherlock 2. We'll be putting her in at spinnaker sound marina and travel up to caloundra. May spend about four nights on board.
I've heard that "the skids" need to be traversed at high tide and was wondering if anyone has done this voyage some words of advise would be most appreciated.
