That is an incredible bargain. Bit sad if the seller was one of us. Proves the rule that you have to be at the right place and the right time.

Does she have a name and sail number?

The way I see it with my 563, unless I replace the trailer, mainsail and genoa, repaint the hull and topside,, and tidy up the cabin,,,,, I feel $2500 is a good price for mine. Yours looks great for $2500 compared to mine for $2500. You got a bargain and your yacht looks like it has been well loved and maintained

If the sails are good too and the inside is presentable then you did get a bargain. Its like I was saying in another post. Boats are really really cheap right now. It is a buyers market.

Most old boats have a range: X dollars for one that is down and Y dollars for an excellent example. This is true of Investigators. When I got Pip I would have said $8500 was a fair price to pay for an average boat. The inside was great, the outside and the trailer were average, but the sails and running rigging were poor. The outboard - worked!

I don't think that is true any more. If I was to buy Pip in the same condition today - then I would have paid too much going on the prices we have seen lately in the forum.
