Death of MULTIPLY

I have just noticed that multiply.com is dead . Went there looking for the old galley mods Ian mentioned and got this.
Thank you for the support you have shown Multiply.com.
May 31, 2013 officially marked the closing of our operations. You may now find your trusted online merchants in their new homes, Sulit.com.ph, the Philippines’ #1 buy and sell website, and Tokobagus.com, Indonesia’s No. 1 shopping site.
For those who may not be aware multiply was the storage medium for the original MSN Investigator site that Ian started, in ?????? When was it Ian?
It was apoor imitation of the msn site but info was still there albeit in a higgeldy piggeldy (put that through ya spell checker ) form that was difficult to search . Just a note that if you find an article you like with info you want to keep get a copy of it on your hard drive. Nothing on the net is permanent or even on your own computer if its not backed up.
My investigator site I had listed in my signature on CJB is long gone but Funily enough the old Geocities site of which I have a full copy of is still up , has been for years and has not been updated since Clive Palmer got his first million.
My google groups site that I set up as an interim site when MSN went off is still there in archive form and you can get stuff from it but it was only in operation for a short time.
I did try the "WAYBACK MACHINE" ( I am old enough to know the origin of that term, anyone else owning up
) to see if I could grab any copies of the multiply site but as the site had not been in use for some time there were no snap shots to be had . If anyone knows of any other archive services you still may be able to view it.
Just a note but there are many web page free services attached often to your Internet account . If you have lots of pics and info on your boat and sailing its worth setting one up as your own personal archive to share with others . It does not mean you can't post it here as well , it just means you can have a back up on the cloud .
Ian , for the newer members what was the history of the old MSN site . I have a screen shot of the cover page somewhere I'll post it if I can dig it up.
