Hi All
I have recently purchased an Investigator as a restoration/learn to sail project and have stumbled on this very helpful forum. I live in Busselton WA so it appears there are not so many Investigators over this side of Oz. I had a few sails of "INVESTIGATOR" (very original name) before winter set in to get a feel of her & was very impressed with the ease of handling. I am slowly sorting out bits & pieces to get her ship shape for the summer & was wondering if leaky lazerettes is a common problem or whether I am missing something?

Happy sailing.

Welcome!
Are you talking about water leaking from the top of the cockpit lockers? I think that this is a minor design fault, which can be corrected by adding some rubber seals around the edges. However, it requires offset hinges to allow for the rubber thickness. Will try to post some pics next time I get to the boat.

Welcome aboard
Glad to hear from an Investigtor owner in the West. I live just up the road in Kalamunda. Next time you come up to Perth I would be happy to show you my boat Mishka

My lazarettes also have their own drain holes. The first time I sailed Pip I never blocked these up - very wet. Now I just use rubber bungs which work fine. I put them in before launching and take them out on retrieval. Welcome to the forum, Shane.
