I remember when I took a safe boating class. The instructor said one of the hardest parts of boating was cancelling a planned trip because of bad weather or equipment problems. Especially in you have other people involved.

At YYC we just go - irrespective of the weather. Quite often we end up getting very acceptable weather. Last weekend is a case in point. We sailed from the Albury-Wodonga YC to Tallangatta. Given the weather report we decided to leave earlier than the time suggested in the AWYC program. We got to Tallangatta in good time - managed to sail all the way. Got in and bedded down for the weather and had a pretty good time. It was a rough night though - lee shore - but still a good trip overall.

If its just about getting out and about on your boat then the weather is just what it is.
