INVESTIGATOR 563

Hi everyone, I have an old spinnaker with my boat which is u/s and I would like to replace it. To save costs I'm wondering if there are any popular racing classes that use spinnakers similar to the size to suit this boat. Often keen racers replace sails when they are a little out of shape and sell off their old ones.

Also would like to know of peoples experience with asymmetrical Vs symmetric on this particular design. Note I am most likely be single handing most of the time.

Hi Andrew,

Teria came with an old Asymetric spinaker (wire luff). No idea if it's to design specifications. But it's great in light to moderate winds, adds a knot or so to boat speed. I don't know what other TS classes kites would fit, but any other 18' TS might be a good candidate.

In the Moreton Bay investigator documents, they indicate that a symetrical kite with 6.3m luffs and half foot of 1.9m. The PDF "Investigator sail measurements" is in the John Crawford Marine Investigator library (link below) Allot of other rigging info in it as well.
