Years ago when I had my cruiser i thought of cobbling together something like this but it’s now been done.
Not much good on our boats though with the long keel, but would clean the front section, behind the keel and I guess the area around the cb. USA site and USA product but could be done DIY I guess with rough marine carpet squares and nylon rope. That was my original concept.

Interesting idea, here's the 2022 version:

I think the toilet brush would work well in the centreboard slot.

Interestingly, inside the slot itself generally does not get much growth. Not a lot anyway. I have suggested in a post somewhere a while back that critters need passing food to take up residence so inside the case is not good for homesteading. Having said that, I did have a big very flat oyster shell up in there a few years ago. The space is pretty narrow so your average barnacle has no head room.

I will spray fish oil up in the slot and on the cb as usual this haulout to protect the gal but I’m definitely going to slop a lot of marine grease around the slot opening and leading edge of the cb before relaunch and see how I go.

Ps also see “cayenne pepper mixed with antifoul” reference on here somewhere .

EDIT ..this was from 2013……my research was poor …I failed to take, and log, comparisons…..I have been thrown out if the “Condiments for the improvement of sailing “ research foundation. I also spelled cayenne wrong.

Peter , I have used International hard antifoo for years. It takes the knocks of trailering mid season if I want to bring the boat off the mooring for work. This haulout which is now done I added cayan pepper to the last of the mix and painted the front half of the boat and the centerboard with a final coat of the mixture to see if it made a difference , recommended on TSP . Will know next year .

Spicy. Look out for the Mexican barnacles.

Seems this mooring thread has generated quite a bit of interest so thought I’d add this. Raining here today so was poking about on Wooden Boat Forums and there was a link to FB that was open and required no log in so I trotted over there too. This is a wheelbarrow tender. Saw the sketch for one on an old hard copy of practical boat owner I had years ago. First time a seen a real one though. Practical as all get out. Anyway for anybody looking for a tender idea
