Hi all, looking through fb and came across this and thought you might be interested.
Just shows what happens if non tinned electrical wire is used in a marine environment. Even if this connection had of been soldered, the corrosion would still have occured up the wire past the joint. You can see where it got realy hot and in the worst case scenario, this could have very easily caused a fire.
What happens is that the resistance of the joint gets high with the corrosion. Amps through high resistance equals heat.
