https://www.offcenterharbor.com/author/linpardy/ Found this link about how Larry Pardey developed the Fatty Knees 8 with designer Lyle Hess and the builders. (Larry built the first plug mould)

Ian’s a great guy. Both my main and Jib are by him. Jib 2021. His wife also managed to rear end my mrs with him in the front seat early 2020.
Funny how the world works.

Had this one in my favourites for yonks but only just revisited it recently. Cruising stuff mainly but given how many longer passages are being made by valiant Investigator owners it’s got lots to explore.

Great fit out of a small sailing boat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6mWJqkiTE4
I rediscovered this link on u-tub last night. I think it got lost in one of the deleted threads last year and I was impressed by the workmanship all over again . More of a single occupant boat but some terrific ideas here crammed into 16feet. An Investigator is a palace by comparison. Even though his stove/cooking rig is based on the canister type gas job it’s still a great setup.
In regards to the canister stoves, I haven’t found any articles indicating problems with the newer alternative design stoves. Used carefully with heat not directed at the cylinder by oversized frypans etc they seem to be ok. We have one of the new ones in our motorhome and use it outside on the little fold down integrated table for bbqs and when we don’t want to heat up the interior on the built in stove. It has given no trouble. Still have the metho Maxi in the boat. The newer designs as mine here have the canister compartment raised to make it difficult to use oversized pots/frying pans that directly heat the gas canister. This lead to them being labeled “explodo” stoves. To newer owners, if you got one with your boat trade it in on the newer type. The old ones had their approval withdrawn.

Greetings, I came across this UTube video on headsail trimming and it's the best I have seen. Hope you get something out of it. Well worth a look.

Big seagoing sailing here but interesting stuff. There is a lot if info in this thread from PBO . I won’t detail it here but it will become obvious as you read it and watch the attached video, which is also interesting. Note how the Cat skipper wisely declined to answer continued questions regarding his boat and crew numbers to the supposed “freighter”. It’s not little-old-ladiesville out there and I’ve always had a slight uneasy feeling that AIS could be used as a shopping list for pirates. It’s the reason I don’t talk about my mooring location, although that’s obviously on a far lower scale that referenced here.
When travelling outback Aus we’ve came across many and varied characters, mostly interesting and helpful people, some downright creepy. Situational awareness is a handy skill to have, but doubly so at sea I guess.
Of particular interest was the list of restrictions quoted in the owners manual. No comment, form your own opinions.
Hope all are well and the low post numbers lately are not because your all laid low with flu, RSV or perish the thought Covid. All our kids, friends and neighbours have had it now. But not us.
