Atles. Its interesting always to see several very different solutions to the same problem. Most people will arrive at a method via experimentation and the "seat of their pants" feel on whats working . Hence the differences between posters here. Keep experimenting, but leave yourself escape routes. Works for me anyway. Remember the Vikings didn't have sailing manuals.
My $0.02 for what its worth. My preferred sail rig for summer arvo NEers on LM is No 2 jib on initial setup, full main. I'm normally having lots of fun with this in conditions I want to sail in. Wind increase and too much sail, one reef in the main. Further wind increase...find a quiet cove and put the kettle on. Clearly that only works on enclosed waters in well known sailing ground (and has had the odd misfire). I use the genoa on quieter days and in winter.
Experience is a great teacher and a great way to set your limits. Keep up the good work.
