Thanks for your interesting post Ian, and the new pics of your carpet rollers.
Unfortunately, the indents in my hull are on either side of the aft rollers: both areas of my boat that never pass rollers!
On my hull, the midship area where you have had problems is fine.
The mystery deepens Watson!
