Et3a i guess boats are dearer in Tassie . Given the comments i made in the 4sale section about it being a buyers market in nsw and Vic is probably similar at the moment what is the cost of transport. Ie on the Spirit before. It becomes uneconomic to shop interstate. There are some real bargains up here lately.

Guys,
I read somewhere on the forum that two thousand dollars was mentioned (correct me if I'm wrong) and if that's the case the bargain wouldn't be so great once shipped here!!!

Im also looking at buying an investigator,

Is there any other major issues to look for other than a jammed/rusted centerboard?

Also do they have any indicators on them to show the production number, year of manufacture etc?

Thanks in advance!

The number on the sail is usually the main indicator of production number. However the most important factor is really the condition of the boat and trailer rather than year of manufacturing. Earlier boats have a single hinge on a curved fore hatch. Not sure what sail number it changed but at least greater than 50.
