IYA Australia Day Weekend Cruise

Post by johnw810 »

Australia Day Cruise is on next weekend on the Hawkesbury and our official start point is at Patonga beach near the wharf for lunch (fish & chips from the shop) on Saturday 24 Jan 2015. After that our itinerary will depend on the weather but probably be around Cowan Creek and its many bays until Tuesday.

Most enjoyable four days with four boats (two investigators.) The crowds and rain on monday did not dampen the fun. Castle bay as lovely as ever.
Some lessons I learnt from this trip.
Dont deploy trailer break lever too early
Always carry a 9lb plough anchor
Check centre board lift wire
Care when boarding inflatables
Hope you get better soon John

Sorry Atles could only find one photo on my phone
Those inflatable single Kayaks are a lot of fun but a devil to climb onto
Came a cropper a few times before getting the hang of it.
Cheers
