Re: Mast Raising Tool
Good invention mate, particularly like the base clamped on companionway step over. How long is the device for future reference? My rear support is square section adjustable for height with top roller. I think there is a pic on here somewhere. I bought that with the boat so can claim no credit.

Re: Investigator 563 WANTED - Sydney, NSW
Fair question Peter. I’ve treated my swing keel/centre board with mostly fish oil my whole ownership. Other than when welding on a new pull rind for the rope, when I took the opportunity to prime it , metal paint and antifoul. At one point I blocked off the slot at the bottom and filled the cavity w...

I want an Investigator trailer.
Hi all, I’m in the market for another trailer. My current one is repairable but I’m so busy on other matters at the moment that I don’t have time or energy to spend on it. I thought I’d throw it out there and see if anybody has one they want to sell/ replace with a new one. Or maybe someone who’s co...

Re: USEFUL STUFFS
This Saturday 27/2 the Aldi conglomerate have tools on again. You can check the site for details. I recommend again their Workzone tape which is a woven/duct tape more really the gaffer tape I used on my music days. I’ve found it quite strong for emergency repairs etc. Only thing I note is the descr...

Re: Members in FNQ
Sounds like you are well prepared mate. We have the Coleman rechargeable like yours for the motorhome. Although we eschew free camping in the really hot months and stick to caravan parks with 240 so we can run aircon. I’m bloody getting soft in my old age . It’s an oxymoron that people in big...

Re: Cockpit locker seals
The only thing apparently that you need to watch is thickness relative to hinges Ian . Ian B the original forum owner mentioned back eons ago that you may need to pack the hinges up to get clearance. I used flat foam strip in the drainage groove around the hatches. It worked for some time but eventu...

Re: Launching 563
I know launching can be daunting at times Ian. I don’t do it often enough to get the perfect technique but I do mostly have the wheels on the trailer just so the hubs are out of the water. Retrieval, I dunk the wheels usually. The main issue is depth of water which I guess depends on the ramp. I thi...

Re: $1000 investigator
Well spotted Geoff. My mate had a Court 750 that had that system. It’s is very good but you do have to wear four rods in the cabin. Note also he has cut the bulkhead away into the st’bd lazaret to create a full length bunk next to the added galley. Very inventive. Maybe the lazaret has been sealed u...

Re: Members in FNQ
Hi Andrew. Good to hear you are ok. I was going to post a general thread wishing our FNQ members well but figured you would be too busy to worry about reading forums. I like the Townsville area as my daughter started her career in Ingham and we were regular visitors. Nice part of the world. Probably...
