Re: Maximising room in small yachts

Keeping on the theme I have a multi-use collapsible table which I love. Tried many over the years and this one won. I found anything that is complicated we don’t use. Fits every part of the Investigator. Unfortunately no make but fleabay would have them.

Re: Centreboard Removal

Thanks Peter As you suggest, failing your kind offer of using your frame in Tassie which would now involve 2 weeks of quarantine,. :x I'll enquire Brighton welding down the road to use his overhead crane. Let me know of the details of the galvanizing process on your board' and re-fitting method of b...

Re: Centreboard Removal

Good detailed photos Peter. Keep them coming. It’s a job I’ve been dreading. could be a job for lockdown take my mind off this chaos going around. My board has been stuck for years and I get rusty bits falling out occasionally ,maybe the whole damn thing will disintegrate and fall out eventually. I ...

Re: Toilet recommendations please.

Perfect subject David for the butt of jokes and awful puns like that one. Yep Ozzie the Napisan advice( from tsp I’m loathe to admit) was a game changer for us. Together wth a capful of washing up liquid in the flushing tank and you’re good to go.(literally) The composting toilet idea in the video w...

Toilet recommendations please.

Glad you were able to get to the bottom of it David. I have always had a small Thetford 10l and had none of the problems you described. I did replace the seal once easily found on fleabay. The one big tip I was given was to use a couple of cups of Disan or Napisan powder instead of those expen...

Maximising room in small yachts

Following my passion (obsession?) for making use of every part of small yachts here’s a vid of a Canadian couple who fitted out a Westerly 22. Interesting to note they travelled the world in a large catamaran and finally opted for a 22ft yacht. Maybe the law of diminishing returns applies here? Also...

Re: Lifting Frame

Good job Peter Together with some other I563 owners I know, all have a permanently stuck centre board and thought of doing this but relegated to the too hard basket. I have a boat -friendly eng company nearby with an overhead crane and lifting straps but expensive fix. Sailing from Wollongong to Tas...
