Re: Storm Jib
Hi Ian. The best thing to do is to simple put the sail you want to use on and try it out. There are several things you can do to adjust for lee or weather helm. Rake of mast, reduce main sail area by reefing, use different rudder( flatter or more foil shape), bow sprit, reducing the amount of centre...

Re: Showcase your Investigator
Hi Ian, I really like your thinking. Great solution mate. Certainly the kindest on the fibreglass. You could even carve a hook into the end of it which would help yank the old growth out also

Re: Showcase your Investigator
Just one word if I may, if you do use the pruning saw method, I would be very careful to keep well away from the pivot bolt area as there could well be rubber seals each side and you would not want to chop them out. Also, be careful to angle the blade towards the centreboard as much as possible as y...

Re: Showcase your Investigator
Hi Paddy, check your genoa sail measurements against what is meant to be. I have added a photo here for you. I would not even think of moving the shrouds aft, but you could fit a length of plastic tubing over the turn buckles etc to prevent any chaffing. You should have enough sail track to adjust t...

Re: Hawkesbury and tiller pilot
Hi Andrew, that will do mate but best practice would be to dril it out bigger, then tape it up from underneath and fill it with epoxy and then when set, drill the right size hole back in to the epoxy and then seal it. That way it's not possible for any water to ever get into the fibres of the glass....

Re: Hawkesbury and tiller pilot
Hi Andrew, I downloaded the manual for the ST1000, you can do the same.see below the set up which I think is page 33 or 34. Screenshot_20230714_112132_Acrobat for Samsung.jpg That distance of 18 inches from the rudder pivot point , you should use the pintle of the rudder to measure from, however, bo...

Re: Hawkesbury and tiller pilot
Hi Chaps, also with the fitting of the Tiller pilots, it is critical when fitting them that you use the EXACT measurements given in the instructions from the pivot point of the rudder to the mounting point for the tiller pilot. If this is incorrect, it will cause either trying to force the thing fur...
