Hi Peter
Looks like the Barber Hauler give you more infinite tuning. Could you achieve the same result with longer headsail tracks (although more difficult to adjust on the run)? Do you find the barber haulers foul or bind on a tack?

Re: Heavy Weather Sailing
I understand what you are saying and it makes perfect sense balancing the boat using the headsail when winds are light and diffidently to round up in emergencies. But this thread was about heavy weather sailing, I think rounding up and potentially stalling the boat could cause boat to flounder, very...

Re: Heavy Weather Sailing
Thanks ozzie just trying to get my head around it. If you round up don't you lose forward motion potentially allowing boat to stall and flounder? feathering the main sheet, till I see the leach, luff slightly, allows me to de-power the main enough to maintain maximum drive and keep rail above water ...

Re: Anchoring / Mooring
Just an update on box anchor. Went to Lakes Entrance new years eve, to watch fire works parked up on bank, transom in, box anchor holding bow out. guy in 32foot fast attack stink boat layed beside me, bow in. when he left he forgot to lift his anchor from the beach and proceeded to launch possible 4...

Ca...

Re: Heavy Weather Sailing
Thanks Ian that is all good advice. My shrouds do slacken anything over 15knots, I have seen pictures of the bracing other people have done and it looks pretty straight forward! Nice tips for coastal cruising modifications. Peter, I found this article on the web, makes allot of sense what the author...

Re: Anchoring / Mooring
I got mine of eBay. About 2 years ago. Mine was the second last of a small batch, that the Ebayer got in from the state's. I don't think they sold to well for him as he marked it down. Mine was $130. I looked on eBay and there doesn't seem to be anymore! Honestly I wish I had one when I fished a lot...
