Re: Boat Number 47

Thanks for the reply Ray,
Good news re this is the first claim for #47.
I initially thought you were referring to the fore deck anchor well hatch, but now realise that you w ere talking about the front cabin hatch. I will check that out later today and let you know.

Boat Number 47

I purchased my 563 about 18 months ago and have really only now started to get into the work that needs to be done. I bought the boat from the Lake Macquarie area and its name was RIPPLE. I will be keeping this name, but I have only just had a good look at the sails and was pleasantly surprised when...

Re: Stoves

Duel fuel is just Coleman fuel or unleaded petrol. Coleman fuel is, as far is I can tell, highly refined petrol with most of, or all of the impurities removed. Both coleman fuel or unleaded work fine, but unleaded will eventually clog up the "generator", or the tube that feeds the fuel to ...

Re: Stoves

That's the one Andrew. Images attached of the single burner, the cover / housing for the single burner, and the twin burner. I loved the single burner unit so much I went looking for twin burner units. I ordered mine from Tentworld over 12 months ago and it eventually turned up a couple of weeks ago...

Re: Stoves

Have not commented to date on this post, but just felt a need to put it out there. The dual fuel Coleman stove. I have both a single burner and twin burner unit - the one I will be using onboard. FYI https://www.snowys.com.au/2-burner-dual-fuel-powerhouse-stove. I would be interested to get peoples ...

Re: Keel shims

I am in the middle of replacing my CB. The following is what I have found on my boat. The old CB was steel and extremely badly rusted, but I was able to determine that the thickness of the CB was around 12mm. The width of the gap for the keel slot is 19mm. I had my local steel dealer cut out a new C...

Re: New Investigator in Melbourne

Thanks Peter, However I have RIPPLE jacked up on blocks. I eventually got what was left of the old centerboard out and I got a new one made from 12mm Black steel bar. Reasonable price, and now I am going to round off the forward and aft vertical edges before I gal it. All good so far. If only everyt...

Re: New Investigator in Melbourne

Thanks Geoff. At the bottom of each forum, there is a checkbox next to a subscribe button / link that was ticked. As such I thought I was subscribed to the forum / topic. I clicked on the button / link and it changed to an unsubscribe button/link and a checkbox that was not ticked, and under my prof...

Re: New Investigator in Melbourne

Geoff, Firstly a question. I do not seem to be getting notifications of your posts or any other posts that I have commented on. Any suggestions? Secondly, always heard great things about Wuruma, but have never been there. How difficult is it to launch there? 39.4 percent full. Not too bad. I will ha...
