Portable electric breathing apparatus

I was over on a rare visit to tsp today to see if I could find some pics I posted there ten years ago. There is currently a thread on the subject above. As I know many from here also frequent there note the warnings from Paul Dandy on these devices. Paul is a GP and has done diving training so this ...

Probably me, but I humbly apologise.

I will check the anchor well next time. I had the hatch off for a while years ago and it had a seagull nest in it.

Snake warning

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-08-26/huge-brown-snake-found-in-veggie-patch/102774880 Just reading this and thought I’d share. I don’t have to deal with this on the mooring, but I know many forum members keep their Investigator under a nice tarp in the backyard. Anyway worth noting it may have pic...

Re: The List

As additions to the videos often get overlooked because it’s a “sticky” I thought I’d put a heads up here on the renaming and refurbishment of Mokum. #145 See Videos general. :)

If anyone knows the new owner or runs into him invite him along.

Re: General interest Links and Videos

Actuality Mokum was #145 (from the video), two after Spritzig II. The new owner, Clive thought it was #144 in the interview. “Sailing Kate Louise” has quite a few good YouTube clips .

Ray, the new name of 145 is “Inarmasalo”after the letters in his Grandchildren’s name

Re: Castaway story. More that meets the eye?

Thanks Andrew, another good insight into the story. Friday night Sauv Blanc ramble here… :P I suppose there is little wrong with eccentricity but if it puts others in peril or even inconvenience it’s not to be applauded. Those who know me from here and tsp will know I’ve done a fair bit of outback t...

Re: Castaway story. More that meets the eye?

Yep Andrew , good summation. As you have raised before Peter, certain elements of the media are not to be trusted to give an accurate report. They sometimes need an “angle” rather than all the facts. If somebody had suffered from trying to rescue him, it would have been interesting to contrast the r...

Re: Castaway story. More that meets the eye?

It’s a hard one to understand. Three months. Also according to Media Watch the boat could have been sailed.

Re: Today at Valentine

Nice one Andrew. I always think owning a timber boat is more of a lifestyle than a hobby. They are certainly not a thing you can ignore for a few years and just start up on a whim again. There is a second chap restoring an ex small passenger ferry to ultimately use as liveaboard I’ve spoken to on th...
