Mainsail issues
hi everyone I'm having problems hauling up the mainsail. Looking at pics of other Investigators i notice that other people seem to get their sail right to the top of the mast. Mine get's "stuck" maybe 25 cm short of the top and no amount of effort will make it go further. I recently notice...

Re: Merry Xmas
Hi All
While I haven't posted much I've read most posts and learnt a heck of a lot. Thanks for all the info. I aim to get down to Geelong in the New Year so hopefully Geoff will be about so that I can pick his brains about sorting out my boat. Have a great xmas break.

Re: Car park/ mast step ladder
Hi Snoop
Do you have any pictures of using that ladder to raise your mast? Always looking for a better system.

Re: Jib sheet cleat
Hi Peter
Thanks, that setup makes sense. I think the angled cleats is a good idea. I was down at the Marina on the weekend and had a look over several other boats from the MTYC. Everybody had a different setup, even on similar boats.

Re: Jib sheet cleat
Hi Geoff
Are you happy with that position, would you alter anything? I'm also interested in Peters set-up with the jammer cleats.
As for the pop top I thought about shock cord but haven't quite figured out how to attach them, but plastic hooks sound good, are they glued on?

Re: Jib sheet cleat
Thanks Steve and Ian I have looked at all the pics of Investigators I could find and… they are mostly all different in how they handle sheets. As to what appears to be an old cam cleat position I don't think so as there is not one on the port side. The previous owner had an additional horn cleat (wh...

Jib sheet cleat
Hi Guys I want to be able to cleat off my jib sheets with a Cam Cleat. Any suggestions for positioning and type/make of cleat. I'm thinking angled to the left of the compass close to the hatch. Also I have taken off the rusty locks on the pop top thinking that I will just have one lock centered on t...

Re: Fish Finder or Depth Sounder
Thanks guys Firstly I have solved my issue with my old Transducer. The wires were corroded (having been ripped out of the transducer) I cut off a metre, rejoined and all seems OK. In regard to Ian's placement solution my centreboard pivot acces has been glassed in (going forward - see pic). Like Mar...

Re: Fish Finder or Depth Sounder
Thanks Mark I guess my real question is that as I see it, the benefit of a fish finder is that it gives you a visual representation of what the bottom is like and if there are any nasty rocks sticking up. Where as a simple depth sounder such as the Humminbird HDR 650 (at around $119) you just get th...
