Re: Interior mods

Matt Don't remember what brand mine is but its a cheap Porta Pottie knockoff. The only criteria I would put on a portable is height, mine is ok but a bit too high. Put a box, esky. crate in the space and sit on it to see what height you can live with and find the closest to that you can. The really ...

Sail on tiller

A link on TSP below took me to an interesting device.. http://www.scribd.com/doc/14218367/Sailing-A-tiller-sail-for-selfsteering-Capt-W-Bligh-RN ...that being a Tiller sail, not the usual one but a separate self adjusting tiller trimming sail. Anyone ever used one?? This is interesting by virtue of ...

Re: Interior mods

Matt one other thing regarding bunks if you intend to sleep out a bit as I do. In the pic I have the original 3inch orange vinyl covered cushions on the bunks, but under those I put 3 inch medium density made up foam single mattresses from Clarke rubber. This is the cheapest way to buy them. the nic...

Welcome Matt ehrm...Welcome to you Matt,, thats better. If you are fitting women and children in on a regular basis take it from a bloke with an all girl crew (wife and 2 daughters) you may want to keep all available space free of a fixed galley. Women seem to bring more stuff sailing than men :D Se...

Re: Three Cheers for Clayton L !

Thanks also Clayton and Ian for your efforts on the site. Having buggerized  around with two sites now I know how much work goes into it. This works great. Ian, as I mentioned before I am more than happy to make a contribution/ subscription fee towards the cost of setting up the site or maybe ...

Re: small boat

Hi Gunter I have just come back from a few weeks in Tasmania and as we drove down I armed myself with some sailing podcasts from "Furled Sails" to listen to on the road. Serge Testa was one of them, below is the link. A very interesting man with a lot of guts I'd say. His boat was aluminiu...

Re: Google Site

Following Ian's lead I have placed an invite only on the Google site. Any current members should not receive spam again. Not that I am expecting any more members now that the paid site is up. I should have done that in the first place. As I said i am only leaving it as a life raft in case of this si...

Re: e-bay Investigator K8.5 start

Yes this was in saturday's Newcastle Herald. Seems good at the price, funny I never see this guy on the lake. There is one 563 at Valentine where his launch picture is taken but that is not it. He states he has had it for five years so it cant be the restoration job that was on the old MSN site Cheers

My 563 has the main berths sealed but front quarters are open. The area around the front of the head is sealed other tha...
