Re: Investigator "Extensions"

Yara came with a pop top cover and what appears to be a full length boat tent. The tent is rather bulky and I confess I have never bothered to work it out. She also has a boom awning, as well as the bimini! As we do mostly day sailing, there is not usually the time to put these up. The only thing we...

Re: Automatic Boat loader

Ozzie- that is a very sophisticated system. Trouble with our trailers, is most are shorter than the boat, and so leading the bow in is difficult. Then there is the skeg, which has to be perfectly lined up with the rollers. I think a mistake many boaties make, and you can see a few on U tube, is to h...

Re: Boat heating,cooking and stoves

My Origo stove has just a simple burner like the old fondue burner. Ah...., remember fondue meals, a big fad in the 70s? Dipping the steak in the pot and then the sauces... With no pre-heating it cannot flare up, but then I don't think the flame is as efficient.

Robert
Good to see that you have your priorities aligned correctly and looking after Palamida. Did you check out the note on the Careel site about inviting us to their get-togethers?

Re: through-hull fuel line connection.outboard to tank

A number of us have buckets screwed together which slide on rails and make the area under the cockpit usable.

I invested in a $100 silver tarp which covers the boat and most of the trailer. Lasts about a year but keeps everything clean and dry.

Yara has a small cut-out in the locker lid- works fine.

Re: Retrieving single handed, crowded ramp, no beach

Problem is that ramp is in the National Park, and the gates close at sunset. But you are right, this time of the year would be better.
I have had some stinkboaters jump the que there right in front of me.

Re: P***ing match

Hi Clayton A million thanks again for your help. I guess our pent-up frustration with the commercial sites has been unleashed and we just couldn't help ourselves with the posting. A great idea to have a joint sail. As a former Careeler I keep a lookout on that site too. Incidentally I was at Gosford...

Re: Boat Name

Ozzie
Spritzig means sparkling, bubbly, as in champagne. A lovely name!
