Re: Marauder 27 in Sydney

Right now I am very happy to have an Investigator 563. Was diagnosed with NH Lymphoma in March, and now in the middle of 4 months of chemo, which means no sailing. If I had a keelboat, not being able to get to it for 4 or 5 months over winter would be a worry. Meanwhile my little Yara sits happily u...

Re: Stretched Investigator

And another one - Investigator 823 https://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-monohulls/investigator-823/213314 That is a modified Marauder 27. Looks like they want to piggyback on the good reputation of the Investigator563. The most intersting part of that mod is the conversion to a tille...

Re: Stretched Investigator

I have not experienced significant weather helm with the Investigator, except when flying a seriously over sized genoa. A tight outhaul and letting out the traveller in stronger winds may be the answer.

Agree that major mods will reduce the value of a one-design boat.

Re: This site coming up with warning!!!

Yes, the site software is way out of date, but I dont have the know how to fix it. Still looking for a volunteer to help..
Running a business single handed, plus current health problems, so no time or energy for that or sailing.

Re: Sail no 156 on the water with new owner

The Bluebird 22 is actually a great boat to sail, and a good sea boat. I used to sail mine offshore. However, does have a bolted on keel which would need to be checked, as well as the rigging. Wood would be to old, but thr FG ones could be OK.

When I tried to stop the spammers I started banning based on their IP addresses. However it got too hard and I gave up. You might be unfortunate enough to drop onto one of those.

Re: Standard trailer rims

Tyres have a use by date. Cracking side walls are dangerous and you will be pinged on a rego check. My 10yo tyres with perfect tread had to be replaced for this reason. Light truck tyres are harder to get at 13 inch size, but not impossible. I seem to remember that my hubs are Holden standard, but y...

Re: Sea Wife

It is possible that someone liked the idea of the well, and ordered a special. Then they learned the hard way about the disadvantages of this type of well, and glassed it in. The theory of which side to mount the outboard bracket is based on prop rotation. Clockwise rotation theoretically kicks the ...
