thanks Yara, I figured it out after reading your reply. having mostly sailed dingies and not having any tuition when purchasing my investigator, (sail number 60) i didn"t realise it even had back stay. i thought it was just a topping lift. I feel like a bit of a dope now but all is happy sailin...
