Re: Centerboard rusted and stuck
Levering the centerboard down. The vicegrips and large screwdriver on the aft end of plate moved it easily!! PB200034 vicegrips.JPG Next was 4" C-clamp can be moved as the plate moves.. PB200036 crowbar.JPG Then a full sized crowbar was bought in. The car stands had the unexpected benefit of go...

Re: Centerboard rusted and stuck
I had several Jacks, the 1.8t trolley jack had to be blocked so the rollers wouldn't move. Supporting and lifting the keel as it came off the trailer, it was fast, has a high lift range, but bulky. various sized bits of hardwood were handy, this is a cut down railway sleeper. The car stands on an ol...

Re: Centerboard rusted and stuck
Hi All, I've got the centerboard out. Here are some photos as it progressed. I put Teria in a strong shed, removed stays and mast. Tied strong ropes from the chainplates and aft cleats to the shed posts to prevent the hull falling sideways or moving forward. PB200016 rope supports.JPG Used Roberts m...

Re: Outboard Well
I once owned an Endeavor 24 keeler with an outboard-well in the aft end of the cockpit, very similar position to yours. It was good for rough water motoring, I was happy with it for going offshore. Once i was away from land, i pulled the 6 hp right out and stowed it in the cabin. The well had a plug...

Re: Centerboard rusted and stuck
Thanks for the timely advice, won't try a lift. Will do the block-boat-up + pull-trailer-out method. Took Teria up to the boat shed yesterday..

Re: Centerboard rusted and stuck
Hi Dr Peter, I've got a strong enough boat shed roof, plus chain block, come-along, 3 jacks, 12" x 6" hardwood blocks, spare timbers, car support stands etc. I don't have proper lifting slings, but do have very strong braided ropes about 20 mm diam .. hope the hull can take that. Plan to m...

Re: Trailer Damage
Hi Ron, That's an interesting solution to the keel support, would be more economical too. Do you still use the adjustable roller support frames below the timber or is it on solid mounts? Sorry All, my previous post mentioned a blue roller for my trailer.. - i since found out from the guy at Bias Boa...
