This may explain the boat that was on gumtree last year that didn’t have the fixed keel centerboard setup you would see on a normal investigator. Instead it had a flat bottom and a lift daggerboard coming up through into the cabin.

Hey Atles- any chance you could flick me the details of your Bimini? Finally I have a boat item the wife supports spending money on due to the 37c day she endured yesterday. Cheers mate!I took off 70 mm of the Bimini legs,and it was right to sit under, with out cutting down the main.

Like most investigator owners I have a row of tubs screwed together in a line under the cockpit for storage that pulls out into the cabin. Great thing until I plan to go out for extended periods and I need to load up the boat with food, nappies etc then access to these tubs becomes a puzzle of movin...

I've had roughly 10 people out in my boat, varying sizes and weights, didn't effect much at all but the speed. I wouldn't have done it outside of an extreamly protected bay though. On a rough day two or three people is optimal otherwise you get in each others way.
