So... who's going sailing this weekend, and where? What sort of adventures do you have lined up? :)

Re: music to play sailing

I used to have one of those Martin Backpackers... stayed in tune for approx 15 seconds and was bloody hard to play with my fat stubby fingers!! I hadn't thought of taking an axe onto the boat but I like the idea of a 3/4 classical for some relaxing boat tunes. Smoke on the Water, anyone???

Re: Sail no 156 on the water with new owner

I agree Ozzie, some of my best childhood memories are of sailing with my dad... including the time we actually had a boat sink on us!

My daughters are incredibly active already but I feel that sharing the joy of boats is something that will hopefully add to their lives... and to mine. :D

Good boat launching ramps in Sydney

Greetings all. After a somewhat stressful launch/retrieval at Apple Tree Bay at the weekend, I wondered if any of the forum members could suggest some decent launch ramps in Sydney. Ideally with pontoons/jetties next to the ramp for an easy tie up (unlike Apple tree which involves climbing a rock wa...

Cheers CALDI4, thanks for entrusting her to us. Btw we've decided to keep the name ... we're all animal lovers in my family as well. :)

Re: Missy (No 111) has her maiden voyage with her new family

Hi Yara50, yes it was a challenge guiding the boat from the trailer to the pontoon and even more difficult on the return leg! I'm also 20mins from there... interested where else you might launch that's better?? And I might just take you up on that help! Cheers, FP

Missy (No 111) has her maiden voyage with her new family

On saturday I bought Missy from forum member CALDI4 (who was gracious enough to spend a few hours showing me mast-raising and rigging in the hot Goulburn sun!). I bought her to introduce my family (including daughters Miss8 and Miss9) to sailing, and at their insistence we took Missy up to Apple Tre...
