Dave,

Great to here to Queeny J is back on the forum. I look forward to hearing of your adventures in her. Here is a pic of your boat taken in 2007.

Midshipman is Mark Durre. If you join Trailer Sailer Place you can try sending him a private message. He was active on that forum in January this year.

Re: Mast Footing Fitting

Forces on the mast foot are vertically downwards with little lateral force. Kevin Shephard knew what he was doing when he stipulated screws.

Re: I bought 'Missy'

Congratulations on your purchase. I've often threatened to buy another Investigator, but my wife is nowhere near as understanding as yours. I would date your boat closer to 1983 than 1985. (Number 82 was built in 1979) It was built around the time that the two hinge design came in but I suspect your...

Re: Whisker Pole

I keep my whisker pole clipped to a hook that I attached to a front stanchion. The pole lays on the deck alongside the gunnel. It's been there for a couple of years and hasn't been a problem. It's in the right vicinity when you need it.

Smiths Lake NSW

Here's an Investigator that hasn't popped up before.
Asking $6,500 or $7,000. (Advertised twice) Looks OK but no mention of a motor.

Re: Facebook #94

This is Sol Invictus, the only Investigator I've seen where the outboard is mounted on the starboard side. Nice restoration. Should ensure a long future for this boat.

Re: Boat Number 47

Rick, No one has laid claim to No 47. Your description of the mainsail is per the originals. The build number did not usually feature on the boat unless the owner was a member of the Investigator Yacht Association in which case the number was affixed the stern with the IYA prefix. Some owners have f...

Re: Careel forum closing and moving

I have a record of about 70 Investigators where I know both the boat number and name. Happy to post them in a list if you want.
