I have added a 27Mhz radio in main cabin and an LED Cabin light. This light was only $19 from Whitworths and is very bright.
I have replaced the transom and port and starB nav lights with LEDs. Again very cheap about $60 in all.

Re: New Investigtor Owner, Batemans Bay NSW
Hi am posting some photos of my electrics set up in Aminee. My battery is located in the starboard locker inside of a tupperware container. I also clip a 10W solar panel on to it when I am not sailing to keep the battery charged. From here the main feed enters the cabin through a hole on the locker ...

Re: New Investigtor Owner, Batemans Bay NSW
Peter i have just finished totally rewiring the boat and also replace all Nav lights with LEDs. I'll take some photos and post to show the set up. All working well. Also got a new solar panel which trickle charges battery with need for regulator. works a treat. More to come later today. Cheers Mark

Re: Purchase storm Jib
Thanks Peter for note I was intending to post here today on the new storm jib. I took the advice given on this site and contacted Eastwind Sails about getting a Storm Jib made for my investigator. I subsequently went ahead, cost about $600, and it arrived Monday this week (about 10 days from order),...

Re: Leaking bilge and centre-plate
Peter I have a small amount of water which enters the bilge, can't determine issue as I have sealed the topdeck and a number of other measures. I investigated bilge pumps, the only place you can fit one is rear bilge behind of the step, as most bilge pumps won't fit in the bilge area forward of that...

Re: Why buy an Investigator 563?
As a novice, wanting to get into sailing after waiting over 30 years to do so, I wanted a yacht that: I could sail solo Launch and retrieve solo Was stable and simple in layout Was easy to sail but fun Was cost effective in purchase and maintenance Looked nice - they do have a nice line and this is ...

Re: Leaking bilge and centre-plate
I have been having a similar issue and took up the suggestion here to seal those drain tubes around the edges with silicone sealer, it seems to have abated the water ending up in the bilge also.Olmate-sail156 wrote:I had the problem of water in the bilge (and keel) for a very long time 156

Purchase storm Jib
My storm jib is pretty tattered and tired and was wondering if anyone knew the best source for replacing, can one use jibs from similar yachts or does one need to pay a sail maker to construct a new one? comments appreciated
Thanks, Mark
