Pictures of tilt rudder on Aminee
Hi some have asked for pictures of my rudder setup which apparently is a non standard fixture. I attach these below. There are two cords associated with this mechanism; one for letting down the rudder (which has the red ball) and the other for pulling up (which has a green ball) attached to cord to ...

Re: Transom mounting for outboard
After due consideration and the comments provided here I decided to stick with my old outboard arm and replace the mounting board on the transom with timber, found a local carpenter workshop who created a replica - total cost of job $10.00. Used hardwood, a coat of oil and bingo should be good for a...

Re: Transom mounting for outboard
Ian could you be more specific in terms of details etc for a replacement. I was only going to replace the backing plate but if you think there are more modern items then happy to hear about it. I dont understand you comment about 'lacking counter weight'

Mark

I took some photos today of the setup prior to going sailing and I'll post these in the next day or so to show my configura...

Re: New Investigtor Owner, Batemans Bay NSW
final photo of electrical system terminals in forward hatch. All lines from the battery run to these terminals ie crude distribution point. Everything from the switch box i posted previously runs through here also. Its dry up there and hence my reason for putting the placement in this position.

Transom mounting for outboard
The transom outboard mounting plate on Aminee is made from wood and badly decayed and needs replacement. Its angled so as to provide a vertical position for the outboard mounting arm and the motor when attached. I am unsure if I need to get an angled replacement made and wonder if I can mount the ar...

Re: New Investigtor Owner, Batemans Bay NSW
cont'd... All wiring that I have replaced has used marine grade cable and where possible used cable ties to hold in tidy. All the previous wire used was not of this grade and was rotten. I found this out when I connected the solar charger directly to the system and it blew an old wire I didn't reali...
