Re: Whale watching cruise

Gunter, Yes that would have been Margarita. We put in at the marina just North of the Bribie bridge and spent Saturday night at Mission Point on Pumicestone Passage. Beautiful weather, but we didn't get a sail up all weekend. Margaret caught a nice bream for lunch. We are planning on whale watching ...

Re: Investigator "Extensions"

Here's some pics of our current project. Since these photos were taken we've done some mods and the tie-downs are now on the outside, rather than inside in these pics. As it happens there's quite a lot of thinking and experimentation that needs to go into a project like this so if anyone has any sim...

Investigator "Extensions"

Ozzie, I thought perhaps we were getting off the topic of the previous thread (Boat heating & stoves), so perhaps we need a new thread. Maybe you'd like to add your last post to this thread? Interested in the pop-top idea. Hadn't thought of that at all. Our tack is more along your tent plans i.e...

Re: Boat heating,cooking and stoves

Benny - is that your correct handle? Yes Dean had put a lot of work into BENDER and was firm on the asking price. But I'm satisfied that we got value for money. Anyway you have pretty well summed up the way we are going. We've put a lot of though and effort into making the boat as liveable as possib...

Re: Boat heating,cooking and stoves

Ozzie, We've been using a gas BBQ hung from the aft cockpit railing to date, but for convenience have started to use one of the portable propane canister cookers. Easier when you only want to boil the billy. We'll keep the BBQ for times when we want to grill a steak or some fish. But I was intereste...

Sure. Either way, with or without the Careels.

We'll be away 24th June til 12 July, going to Whitsundys for the school holidays.

Re: through-hull fuel line connection.outboard to tank

Margarita has a hole in the transom, similar to Ozzie's but with no seal. It is large enough to allow both the fuel line connector and the charging lead plug to go through. In the photo only the fuel line is connected. No water gets in - more gets in via the locker seals in wet weather. Arrangement ...

Re: Boat Name

Ozzie. Great name - why would you even consider changing it?

However I am suspicious about the sobriety of Investigator owners.

My boat was called Shiraz (perhaps by the original owner) before being changed to Bender, and now renamed Margarita.

Re: Come on guys, start posting!

OK Ian, I'll start the ball rolling. A couple of weeks ago we put the boat in at the boat ramp at the marina just North of the Bribie Island bridge for a day trip on the Pumicestone Passage. Had a great day in perfect conditions up and back to a place called Mission Point, which as a top spot to sto...
