Re: Becalmed, Mayhem, and a Maintenance Warning

Thanks for comments etc. I replaced the port side U-bolt yesterday. I appeared to be on ok shape for a 30+ yr piece but who knows if hairline cracks were there. Actually all u-bolts now changed as also changed the bow haul in point a few weeks back as it also showed signs of corrosion. Replaced most...

Becalmed, Mayhem, and a Maintenance Warning

All Small trip report and a warning Yesterday I went sailing in Batemans Bay, the first for a while and now the QB weekend crowds had dispersed I thought it would be a perfect day along with my two sailing colleagues also going out in their boats. A lovely sunny morning, gently breeze, NNW moving me...

Re: Facebook group

Ozzie Agreed I no longer use dropbox for personal or business where information is private or confidential. However for sharing the odd doc or photos via a sharing link it works well and is no compromise to security or privacy. DB has improved however since those earlier concerns were circulated but...

Re: Facebook group

All I am afraid I can't hold back from commenting. Greg, nice thought but I will never use it, and as I suspect, many others will not either. (Might have been useful to survey the groups interest in using FB prior). Ozzie is pretty on the mark on this one. In one of my past activities, I used to mak...

Jacking up an I563 off the trailer

All I am contemplating getting my boat off its trailer and jacking it up so I can repaint the hull. I'Il being doing it undercover in a carport arrangement that is high enough for the boat. I have studied many of the posts and photographs here on the site and still am unsure how to get it lifted so ...

Phil
After a life immersed in science and techology sailing in its purist form is truely one of the great pursuits in which to indulge. I find myself moving towards the keep it simple principle in all I do.

Re: HOW DO I UPLOAD PHOTOS ??

All and Phil I tools used in these forums are archaic and not user friendly this includes the photos upload function. the Board whilst robust has a design and user interface functionality of the 90s and hence a lot of people have issues in uploading material creating links etc. I suggest further tha...

Re: main sails

Ozzie and Atlas

I get the same comments when I am tied up at our ramp, no one ever thinks its a 30 yr old boat. Of course we care for them in many ways but well worth it. Yes a lovely boat in every way.
